Default V-Hauls?

What do ya'll know about v-hauls. My dad's looking for a boat to get this spring. I know they're usually bigger water boats, but how do ya think they'd do a 150 acer lake or so? How do the handle shallow water? Do ya think it would just be better to go with the 16, or 18 foot jon boat? Price is kinda limited, $1500 or so, looking for used.

Most all boats are V's. Some are "modified" V's (Bass boats). Bigger water boats are more of a straight V. They can get as shallow as you want them to. But with all the water around you I would go with the biggest boat you can.

I agree that a V hull will be just fine. And the bigger the boat the better obviously but any boat is better than no boat.

Their fine as long as you don't plan on standing and flippin n pitchin. The high sides tend to get in the way for that. Great for gen purpose though. Bigger is usually better.

Darn, I never thought of that. I'm sure a casting deck would not be to hard to build.
