90% of the worms I use are powerbait, and about 9% are cultprit. (there's also about .5% gulp and the rest is various different kinds.

Red shad is my best producer. Sometimes I use a small weight for a faster fall.

all the colors listed above are good, i also like grape shad. culprit makes a ton of good colors. i really clear water go with more natural colors such as greens and browns. shades of watermellons and green pumpkins is a good place to start.

In the laminated colors, the shads, try inverting them on the hook with the lighter side up and the dark side down.......creating a greater degree of contrast in the sillouette as seen from underneath and more light reflecting from the side or top views.

Culprit is a really good worm. I used to use them a bunch. I don't know why I quit other than I don't fish a worm as much as I used to. I don't fish much clear water but in the stained water I fish, Tequila Sunrise is one of my favorites.

We southern guys have been catching bass on 7.5 Culprit ribbon tail worms for ages, techniques ? oh well, we´re southern so T-rigged must be the No 1 rigging techniques for us guys in the south, colors ? choose the color YOU like the most but I bet for most of us southern guys Red Shad, Tequila Shad and Black Shad gotta be the most productive.

I would begin with T-rigging a 7.5" Tequila Shad.

natural see threw colors on bright sunny days, bluegill patterns with the tip dyed chartruse, perhaps when there is cloudy skies, you would go with a solid colors, I hear purples, reds, black/saphire blue, I really try matching the forage also, thats how i decide when fishing ultra clear lakes or ponds, i ask myself

"What are the bass feeding on this time of year in this particular lake"

match the hatch, and you should be good. (also use fast retrieves, gives the bass less time to look at your lure, zip, zip, zip, let sit for 2-3 seconds, *repeat*. Float worms i hear are deadly with this on an ultra light hook, rigged weedless, maybe even try wacky rigging it. (the fish will help you find out how they want it)

i love culprit worms..i use them more than any other kind of worm but like bassinbob said you should try using red shad..with a clear lake you may want to try using more natural color worms. like watermelon seed, watermelon red flake etc..

Personally I use culprit about 30% of the time, with really good luck on motor oil red fleck, (may be called something else, but thats what I know it as from a general stand point). A guy that I fish with alot goes by the sang that culprit is king, and I don't know anyone who catches more big bass on worms where I'm from.
