Default Wacky swim bait?

A friend of mine said he has been catching a lot of bass on a wacky swimbait. Has anyone ever heard of this or is he possibly talking about a swim-senko?

is he saying he wacky rigs a soft swimbait? I have done it with flukes and other fish like plastics after the nose was torn and it can trigger strikes. If wacky swimbaits is a name brand, I haven't heard of it.

that's how i took it. i would imagine that it could provoke bites as it would have a quivering action like it was about to die. on the other hand i could see someone tearing up a lot of expensive swimbaits too.

Im quite sure he meant a soft swim bait, and I asked if it was a jerk bait, he said no, a swimbait. I guess I may get a wild hair and try one, I could see where a really limp one like a hollow belly would be good if you hooked it closer to the nose, it may have a slide then die action. Just figured it may be something other anglers were keyed in on.

To follow up on my own question I wacky rigged a mann's hard nose about an inch and a half behind the head on a 4/0 ewg and tank tested it (in the bath tub lol) and it looked pretty darn good to say the least, it just took about a 1 foot jerk to get the tail going, but I imagine I will get a wild hair and give it a try.

That is a good way to test ... Ill often pull a bait in shallow water by the shore to see how the action is going to be. I think that that is a good way to familiarize yourself with how different lures react (especially when you are a noob like me )

I can see how it could work! If you hook it just behind the nose it could look it is an injured bait fish! And if you just rig it weedless like you always would, it looks like a fish, fine and live! Bass are always looking for an easy meal!
