Sounds like it's time to switch to a jig n pig. You won't catch too many small fish on a jig, especially with a big chunk trailer. Focus on big fish baits. Big spinnerbaits with oversized blades can help you home in on the bigger fish in the lake. And don't forget to try a swimbait every now and then.

It may just be that where you are fishing doesn't have a large population of big fish. Some places, especially ponds, are drastically devoid of 2+ pound fish because of the rigors of the seasons. So just toss some bigger baits and hope for the best.

you should try fishing on top only during low light situations and fishing on the bottom with a texas rigged plastic worm, around 7'' on the bottom and in cover.

Don't always assume that ponds have small fish though. As the oldies here know, I fish primarily in a 20 acre pond near my house and regularly catch 1-5 lb bass (which up here in Maine is a decent size).
