John, When I talked to Daniel, he said he was getting precooked craws to save us a lot of hassle (boiling fresh ones is a lot of work). So we'll need some craw boil spices for the corn and taters if you want them to taste like they do in the same pot as the craws.

Boiling corn on the cob and potatoes is a lot easier than doing a whole pile of crawfish. Matter of fact, most crawfish places around here sell potatoes and corn on the cob along with the crawfish. I'll call a couple of places tomorrow or Friday and see if I can verify that. If so, we won't need to worry about it.

John, why the heck are you sitting at your computer telling us that? You should be in there scrubbing her back. You're here playing with the male DINKS, when the female LUNKER awaits.

As for the roaster, I'll bring it anyway to do the dogs & kraut.

Map of the cabin area.
http://www.alapark.com/parks/pdfs/jo...ercabinmap.pdf
May want to print it out if you are not familiar with the area. You all have your cabin numbers.
Looks like the drive to the cabin area is the first LEFT after you cross Wheeler Dam on Hw 101 south.

Anyone have a picnic canopy? Bring your Gore Tex!!

They've changed the forecast drastically since this morning. I checked for Florence, AL when I first got to work, and it had 60% chance of rain basically all next weekend. So nobody put too much stock in what the "experts" say.

oh yeah.........daniel and i have the ice cream makers covered. so we WILL have vanilla and strawberry ice cream.

I saw it on the weather channel site. It's on my desk top. Anyways, that was last night and looking at it tonight it's a totally different forecast. Looks much better with no rain, so like Bama said, lets keep possitive. It changes by the day.

I'd like to, but we have 15 hrs to drive and will likely be out of there by 5 am Sunday morning. I want to get a bit of sleep and head out fresh in the morning. I hate passing up biscuits, I love them, but it's a long day dragging a boat 800 miles.

Printed out the directions this morning and it's 863 miles. Wonderful. GASOLINE, I hate you oil companies, 40% profits? Well I'm making my contribution to the oil executives big bonus this year. Something's gotta give, and it looks like it's everyone who drives. Ok rant over, and I have to recompute our gas budget. See y'all (that's as southern as I get) in a few days.

Let's see, 863 miles @ 13 MPG @ $4.00/gal = wife isn't getting her nails done at all this month! 67 gallons for the truck each way plus local travel, and I'll probably be close 70 (tank and a half) for the boat over the week, guess she'll have to cut her own hair for a month or two, and the cats will only be fed ONCE a day - we all have to make sacrifices. Oh, what sacrifice am I making - you ask? Well........ I'm only going for ONE WEEK! LOL!!!!
