I would try black baits, spinnerbaits, jigs or worms.

well i live in lousiana very near to new orleans but ive never taken a water temp reading but i might as well. the isnt much cover because the people who mantain the pond to only have it look good they dont care about the fish so they have taken all of the shoreline weeds out.

I'd use soft plastics. it probably isn't cold enough up there to deadstick them, but I'd try a fluke with a stop and go retrieve. without the cover, you'll probably find the fish near the deeper water, close to structure if there is any.

Sand minnows usually work pretty well in that situation.

Default shoreline weeds gone??

I'd still expect action along the shoreline using small baits and weights. The shiners will still be in the grass/algae that grows in the shallowest water and the bass will chase them when they're hungry. Even Loisiana water is cold now, so I'd fish small and slow.

Good luck - senior
