Some convenience stores in NJ sell worms.
What area do you live in? Sport Authority stores are having their Jan clearance sales.
Eagle Claw combos around 50 dollars spinning
Shimano Sojurn rods for about 20 dollars
Shimano, Okuma, Daiwa, Penn, Quantum (sp) reels around 40 to 60 dollars
Shimano Rod with Penn reel 65 dollars.
Check your local stores. Try flea markets or garage sales.
Do some research on the net and this forum, put together an outfit for yourself.
Don't waste the money, but spending it too quickly. I know you don't have a lot of money nor a car to go to places. Got a bike? When I was growing up I collected bottles for deposits. My friends and I would take a bike ride on Sat and Sun to look for house sales. Got a lot of stuff from these sales.
I still look to these places for good prices
Good Luck

I got the Shimano® Spirex®/Bionic Blade™ XPS™ Combo for Christmas... I was told I had to make a list since I'm a difficult one to shop for. I definitely like the Bionic Blade....it seems well crafted. I got the MH. If you want detailed pics let me know.

Good luck with your decision!

Onw place i was catfishing at you could probably "catch" enough beer bootles out of the river while your fishing to pay the entire price of the boat. LMAO!! It sucks though cause it used to be a good place to fish.

in canada we get 10 cents for every beer empty we bring back to the beer store so we kept collecting and saving the money until we had enough to pay the down payment for the boat we wanted
