Default Hot foot mod.

Does anyone make a device so that you can switch between the hotfoot and the hand throttle? Running with the hotfoot is great but when I'm scoping out an area that looks promising, I like to sit up on the back of the seat so I can see better. Put the boat barely on the step and cruise a good looking shoreline. Unfortunately, my legs are too short. Seems like a great idea to me.

I don't like the hotfoot, removed it from the only boat I bought that had one previously installed.

No cant be hooked to both,if set correctly your foot does not have to be on it as will idle, thus even when sitting higher up kill switch should be hooked.
Meaning one can sit or sit on the back of the seat does not matter idle is idle, with foot weight off of it about 900 rpm in gear.
Many do set them so they die if weight taken off,but easily corrected at the foot throttle switch with the adjustment nut.Or via the idle adj screw on the motor.

I'm not familiar with " Land and Sea ". Did that come originally on your Ranger? Is it a junction at the shifter or what? I'm sure interested in that.

Other than being able to walk around on the boat without safety lanyard attached see no need or reason for it,if you cant sit back and take foot off without it dying then adjust idle speed.many do have them set so it will die if foot isnt on it as an extra precaution.
As for the drive by wire ,battery operated?Remote hooked to 12v wiring?Dunno would consider either sort of unsafe if it went out.Like the capt said never seen one of those critters so aint to popular.

Merc verado and yamies 4 strokes have throttle by wire setups and a lot of trolling boats have dual stations for that reason. The tower boats also use this system for sight fishing cobra. Pretty cool as they can fold the tower down for trailering. The steer by wire is also used on these fast mid sized boats.

Yeah know the verado do just never seen one in fresh water, and fast is sort of self or user defined.Fast in BB used to mean 70 plus with a stock 150,not 60-70 with 300 hp,latter is just moving fast but not a fast boat.
If the stuff works without glitches so be it,me i dont see a need for it but others might.
