Baitcast:

Quantum energy PT Burner (7:1) / Cabelas XML 7' MH F

Really love throwing worms on this rod!

Spinning (my only good one):

2500 Daiwa Exceler / 7' M St. Croix Premier.

Very nice rod, couldn't ask more from it for what I put it through. Same with the reel with the reel, with the number of times it's been dunked in the river, I couldn't be happier (although it's IPT is a little slow for my liking).

Haven't found my favorite spinning rod yet, but my Fuego 2000 will probably be the reel.

For casting... As far as a general all around rod, I've got to go with my Dobyns Champion 733C with a Daiwa Zillion (7.1:1). My champion Extremes are great rods, but that 733 is just so damn versatile.

I have a Falcon Cara T7 Head Turner with a Revo Premier, and a Dobyns 734C with a Shimano Core 100 that are a toss up as to which I prefer.
Both setups are a pleasure to fish.

I only own 1 spinning setup that I use for bass fishing, Revo Premier 20 on a Abu Veritas rod. Will probably look to upgrade the rod soon.

As of right now, my favorite casting combo is my custom built 7' M-Fast which serves as my worm/tube rod right now. Rod is 3.4 ounces and is built on a Jann's Netcraft JMX spinning (but built as a casting) I have two of these combos with Revo MGX reels on them and they are super light at only 8.8 ounces for the combo.

Favorite spinning setup is a Kistler Helium Micro LTA 7' Medium with a Patriarch 9535. Absolutley the best DS rod I have ever used. Light enough to throw 1/8 but also beefy enough to throw a 1/2 oz. DS rig.

Favorite casting rod is a Kistler LTX 6'9" MH/f paired with a Pflueger Patriarch XT reel. Very versitile, light, sensitive, strong combo.

Spinning is also a Kistler LTX 7' M/f w/recoil guides, paired with a Pflueger Supreme XT (--30 size). This rod is very nice for finessee style plastics and drop shot.

My favorite casting combo is a custom 7'3" Med/Fast built on a Lamiglas Excel 734 blank with micro guides. The reel is Daiwa Fuego with upgraded bearings and drag. The blank is technically a med power but fishes more like a mh. It's a good all purpose rod and gets used more than any other I own.

I only have one spinning combo and I don't use it very often. The rod is a custom built with micro guides on a 7' med/fast Lamiglas spinning blank. The reel is a Daiwa Exceler 2000.

I don't have a favorite spinning outfit as I only own one. But my favorite casting outfit is my Revo SX paired with a Cabelas XML 7'0" MH/F. That is one sweeeeeet combo my friend!

Bryce, do you by chance have a finished rod weight on that Phenix? I was looking at having the same blank built for myself.

Spinning- 6'6 MH Duckett with Ora SX spinning reel
It would have been a 7 custom drop shot rod with a 2500 Exceller on it had it not found it's way 'to the bottom of Tellico Lake this winter "that one hurt but was all my fault as I left it sitting out and wanted to run and gun in a tounrament lol.
Casting- 6' Castaway CP Series Pop R rod with Shimano Curado D series. Perfect top water rod and small rattle trap rod love it
And yes I'm short and a short rod fanatic lol

I'll weigh it tonight, Ryan. The weight on mine should be a little more though, because I had walker put 0.8 oz in the (rod) butt for balance reasons.

LOL.....I like how you felt the need to identify which butt the weight went into.

My favorite combo WAS a BPS Extreme baitcaster on a 7'6" telescopic Falcon rod. Unfortunately, that rod didn't survive Guntersville.
I guess now my favorite one is a Rick Clunn BPS baitcaster on a 6'6" Browning medium power fiberglass rod.

I've wanted to get my hands on a Falcon rod for a while, but I'm not a fan of the tiny grip on the back of the split grips. Or that fact that they leave so much threading on the reel seat... They should really trim those down.

Ryan, it came up 125 grams, or 4.41 oz. Since I had Walker add 0.8 oz to it, an unmodified one (with Recoils) should weight around 3.6 oz. That's really light for a 7'6" medium power rod. Heck, that's less than the shorter 7'0" MF Legend Xtreme (3.7 oz).

That is pretty light for a 7'6". I think I am going with a 7'1" MH Phenix K2 casting blank... should be able to get it right at 3 ounces or less when finished.
