Small baits, shadrap number 5,4 in ringworm(crig),keep line wet takes 10 -15 fish to get one 12 in keeper.Buzzbait early like 1/8 oz tri wing plastic blade white blade white skirt, small 1/8-1/4 spinnerbaits ken posten makes nice ones in or around barboursville,w,va,or did.
Creek mouths,parked barges,old lockwalls,mooring cells,bridge abuttments all produce,and a fair share of spots.Up river smallies,tubes(keepem small) being a top producer,light line,smoke n pepper,watermelon/pepper,blue blue fleck,red shad in rubber.
Largies behind the barges, spots at ends pertains to any man made object in the current, and how much current or lack thereof is what success is built on.It can be a mooring cell in 30 ft of water they suspend about 5 ft or so.Small jerkbait will work wonders around any concrete, again keep it small its shiners not shad.
