Default Spinning Rod

Okay, I am looking to purchase a decent spinning rod in the $40-$60 range, and I'm not sure what to go with. I have a Cabelas pretty close, and I have some club points to use up there, so that is easier for me than heading 4 hours away to BPS. I would like to get a 6'6" medium action rod for mostly fishing plastics, and I am limited on the money I will allow myself to spend, so please no "well, if you would spend $80-100 you could get this." Thanks in advance for all of your help.

If you have a wal-mart that you don't care to visit, A berkley bionix spinning rod for 49.99 is a pretty good buy. I have one and its lightweight, very sensitive, and an an all around good rod. Mine is a 6'6" medium action and I use it to fish a lot of plastics and small baits, and occasionally whatever else I wanna tie onto it including large spinnerbaits and jigs. I say its a great rod for that price range, and it seems quality made to me. Had it for a year now and its still just like brand new and still feels great and balanced with my reel.

I agree. Get a Bionix rod, they are great for the price.

The Berkley Bionix is good so is the extreme from BPS. The equipment that I have bought from Cabella's that is there own has been a little disappointing . Fish2win

I am not planning on buying Cabelas brand equip, but I did get a chance to look on their website today, and I noticed 3 rods in my price range that are made by top line rod makers. The St.Croix Premier, Fenwick Eagle GT, and All Star All American Classic. I know these are their lowest end rods, but are they still good quality, or are they just cheap junk with a high price name attached to them?

Berkley Lightning rod is GREAT for the money as well as the Fenwick Eagle GT. Cant beat them for the money or the performance.

Can't beat that rod, for durability, function, and price.
