Sunday Dragon Report
I had a charter on the Dragon this Sunday. Was supposed to be a jet boat trip way up the Dragon but I had no prep time on the jet boat so I dragged my Mako down to test it on some really thin water. I hit three logs and jammed it up swamp guts and cuts. It did well. We started with a top water bite that never worked. Changed to mid depth cranks and picked a bunch of dinks and this spot tail croaker.
Changed over to Wacko's since tide was high LGMouth tight to cover under a brutal hot sun. The drive home was long and made longer as a trailer wheel passed me on the highway. Oh well ... still have three more wheels.. Capt Mike

I seem to remember a couple of stumps a certain guide found for me as we idled through skinny water. You out looking for those again??? Probably still have nicks in them from my prop.
I've seen the same thing happen to a truck on 95 one time. Tire bounced across the highway in front of me and hit a car that was speeding by not paying attention!! No wrecks or serious damage fortunately. |

The whole backside of the island has about twenty new logs on the bottom.
It has about 20 inches of water at low tide now. Big change from last year. Even more dangerous than before. Capt Mike

So the "unsafe" cut through is the way to go now during low tide?
Hey, it's getting closer to Labor Day. I'm looking forward to this year's adventure. You up for a little re-match on your home water??? |
