Default Fishing From A Pontoon Boat

Alright, i still young, so i cant buy my own boat, but anyways all i have is a pontoon, its my grandpas me and him go fishing every weekend at Grand Lake, and i was just curious if having a pontoon boat is any downfall to my fishing succes? The boat is equipped with fish/depth finder, trolley motor, and thats about it?? I was just wonderin if this boat would be a problem in fishing success??

It is a boat, isn't it? There are alot of guys on here that would take that over what they have now. Which is nothing!!! Bass do not care what type of boat you are fishing out of, so make the best of it and do the most important thing. HAVE FUN!!!!

A pontoon boat is great to fish from - I've been happy to fish 2 adults and a 9 yr old out of a canoe! A boat - any boat - gets you places you'll never get from shore! Enjoy and enjoy the time with your Grandpa!

Shouldn't be a problem at all.

Been there, done that. A pontoon can be a great place to fish from. You have room and in the event that you get hungry just sit and eat.

Nothing wrong with it. I fish from a canoe. Maybe it would be more comfortable/advantageous to get some different accessories but it sounds like you got the basic ones needed.

the biggest advantage on that pontoon you have is the trolling motor..I've seen many a guy take out granpas pontoon but with gas motor only, so when they get to a desired fishing area or cove on a windy day they have to anchor down and cast about...def. not the same as cruising the banks searching with the trolling motor.
To make life easier some assessories that you could bring is a life jacket, a cooler for drinks or food, some chairs if you need to sit while fishing, a anchor for windy days, lights, places for tackle n rods..I've seen many guys take a small grill on a pontoon for dinner on the lake.

Well definently got life jackets, got a cooler; drinks and food, the boat is equipped with some fishing seats in the front, got an anchor, got lights, and have plenty of room for tackle and rods. And we have taken the grill a couple of time, it was the best!!
