Default BPS, Bass Fishermans Heaven

Well I FINALLY got a chance to visit a BassProShops in St Louis, and all I can say is WOW I can obviously go online to get stuff, but to actually walk in and be there is just fantastic 8) I found all of the stuff I was going to buy online, plus several others things I just had to have. I think they should rent cots out, so I could just stay the night ;D I'll just give you a short list of what I bought, and understand that everything on this list is not availble anywhere I can find around here, hence why I was gonna order them online.

1. Lucky Craft Pointer 95sp(can't find Lucky Craft here anywhere)
2. Rapala X-RAP
3. Storm SuspendDots, and SuspendStrips
4. Sticky weight
5. Mustad Triple Grip trebles
6. Gamakatsu SUPERLINE hooks in several sizes
7. Quantum Hot Sauce
8. Several Bags of White Lizards, and some Bubblegum too.

I was with my wife, and she was a great sport, but I could've spent several days there, not just 2 hours 8). I'm extremely jealous of those who have close access to a BPS, and hope you folks know what you have because we don't have anything even close to it around Indianapolis. Of course for me that might be a good thing :-/ I would definately spend a whole lot of $$$$$$$ there.

I haven't seen the one in St. Louis but I've been in the Springfield store and IL.bassin is right. It's the Taj Mahal of fishing and hunting stores. We stopped by there on our way to our vacation destination and I told the wife 'Honey, you and the kids go on without me, this is vacation enough for me, just pick me up on the way back home on Friday.' Unfortunately she didn't think that was a good idea.

I personally have probably spent over 6,000 $ at BPS.
A load of fishing equipment, including several rods and reels, both Quantum and ABU and alot of hunting "stuff".
Including an over & under shotgun.

I made it to a Cabelas this past Sunday. Anyone think BPS has more or is better than Cabelas? The nearest BPS is about 3 hours away from me. They did have some Kistler Helium rods that were used. They were 7ft. med and 7ft. mh. They both were 141.00. Now that I have my Christmas bonus I might go back and see if the MH is still there. They were both in very good shape, didn't look used at all. Just bought a couple bags of Zoom brush hogs and some hooks.

I have never been to a BPS, but I have ordered a bunch of stuff from them and I have been to 5 different Cabela's stores and I have their credit card. So, I would say that I have some experience comparing the two...but not totally because I've never been to BPS. That being said, I would take BPS over Cabela's any day. In fact when I order things from BPS I use my Cabela's Credit card because I get money back to spend at Cabela's! This is why I think BPS is better. They have a better selection of their own branded items at a larger price range (think baitcasting reels and rods), they have a much larger selection of bass lures/or most lures in fact, and I think for the things I'm interested in they are a little cheaper (like cranks, spinners, etc...). Those are just my 2¢, but I will also add that I can't wait until the Council Bluffs, IA store opens!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D

I'd been hearing rumors, but today I got an email from BPS inviting me to a fish fry this Friday sponsored by BPS and the Governor is suposed to be there for a special announcement. Gee, I wonder what it could be ;D.? On the plus side there will be a BPS in San Antonio. The down side? What do y'all think ? The bait moinkey will be in constant overdrive.

I've been to the bass pro in huston and the one in orlando. The fish tank at the one here is way better, but the one in Houston is a good bit bigger and has more stuff.
