what are you using right now?

but as a budget angler myself...Ive had no problems with my silver and black max's (abu garcia)
Im also one of those people who think any reel will do fine with the proper tuning and set up.
but thats highly debatable.lol

The Abu Garcia Silver Max has a Flippin/Pitchin switch on it to allow you to engage the anti-reverse the second the lure hits the water. It is usually $50-$60.

if you buy the revos s,it will last a lot longer than the black max,and if you do have a problem with it,you can send it in and they will fix it or replace it

I think Abu's are my second choice. Behind Daiwa of course. Check out the Tierra, Exceler, or Megaforce.

You have to spend more on Daiwa's to get a good reel, the new reels they are coming out with that i saw at icast look sweet though

I don't know, I personally think Daiwa makes the best lower end reels (under 100 bucks). I have a procaster, and love it. I think it is a great reel for the price.

I have'nt fished too much with lower end Abu's but they do make a good reel.

I have a new Citica. It's alright for the price. Casts good, but could use another bearing or two. Not the smoothest reel.

i have a bunch of revo sx reels and love them. but for a budget flippin and pitchin reel you should look at bps extreme. they are great budget reels and also come in a 7.0:1 ratio which is ideal for flippin and pitchin.

Daiwa probaly does make the better lower end reels, but I fish dont fish with lower end reels,I fish with Revo S&SX's,and have 1 quantum energy and dont like it near as much as the revos, but I would like to get a curado soon
