Default bass not biting

I was fishin in my pond beside my house and there was about a three lb bass swimming close to the bank and i threw a purple medium sized jig out but the bass just avoided it.anybody know why?

Welcome to the forum!

Yep-it didn't want the jig. If it did you couldn't keep it off the jig. Now you need to find out what it does want. Try throwing different baits and see if you can get a hit on something-soft jerkbait, tube, Senko-type bait-for ponds I love throwing a senko-type bait or a topwater like a Tiny Torpedo. And there are some days they will not hit anything-that's why they call it fishing and not catching ;D
