I've had that same perch rapala for about 20 years, its a good one.
Mines all scratched up, but I put owner hooks on it about 10 years ago,
they are still sharp!

I would go with Gamakatsu #6 trebles. I use the Katsu's with most of my cranks unless I want to go with short shank hooks (the short shank hooks are good for throwing into cover). VMC makes trebs w/ short shanks.

yea you cant see it from the detail in the camera but mines got some battle scars as well, same with my trusty confidence lure, my Heddon Bill Dance signature series super spook Jr. in brown chub, had a few muskies on it and countless bass, whenever im not catching anything i can pop that out there and catch something i love it. thanks for the info Zook and W2B

VMC saltwater treble hooks! I replace all my rapala hooks with those. I personally don't like the hooks that rapalas come with. You can get them at BPS and they are really strong. They make a size 6. I don't know about 8.

If you wish to use the hooks rapala puts on their baits, then go with the VMCs. They give you the most bang for the buck, 25 trebles for about $5 in nickel or red.

I like VMCs for the bargain, and Mustad's triple grips for the look and funcionality. Unless bought in bulk, pricewise (please no one get pissed) the others are relatively more expensive. I think the one you have up there probably uses size 6 trebles.
