Default What kind of baitbaster to buy?

Its about time for me to buy a new reel. I think you can feel more with an open faced but for some reason i love baitcastors. I had a Daiwa that i bought years ago for around $60, its about had it, i want another baitcastor and i dont want to spend over $100. I have tried the Browning Medallion and i think thats what i will get unless anyone has other suggestions of something better for cheap.

Buy a Pfluger Trion,This is a great reel for the price. Also try to remember that you get what you pay for.I've owned cheapies in the past and will never do so again.

try one of these. Very smooth. I also use the shimano curados. It's not quite as nice as these but very close.

Bassassassin, I have a Procaster 6+1 like new for $45.00 shipped, and I just got a Pflueger low profile Trion in, its in excellent condition, $60.00 shipped.Instant message me if your interested. If you not interested in these reels, but got another reel in mind, but have some unanswered questions about the reel, I will try my best to help you.I deal in alot of reels and do reel repair for the local bass clubs, so I most likely have seen it, but not always. Bass pro has an online sale on their Quantum AC500PT for $49. I have one of those reels and I'm about to p/u another. Its a dang good reel and for $49 you can't find a better reel.

How is the Shakespeare Caterea Reel? It sells at Wal - Mart for like 35 to 40 bucks adn it has a gear ration of 5.1 to 1!

I just picked a Pflueger Trion for $79.00 (normally $99.00).

I am an SF Curado user and that is my benchmark when it comes to baitcasters and the Trion is giving you a lot of reel for the money.

I'll admit I had my doubts at first, but for that price I just couldn't say no. Fotunately, it casts magnificently and pitches beautifully.

I still give the edge to the Curado but the Trion is a decent and practical choice for the budget minded (like me!)

Dont get it! It is a crappy reel! Low bearing count. For the same money you can own a Rhino RBC 300 Baitcaster. The strongest reel I have used to date!

I Am A Firm Believer That If You Can Find A Really Nice Used Rod And Reel Combo Or Just A Reel, That That Is The Best Way To Go. Thats How I Started Out. And I Still Have A Few Of Them And Will Never Give Them Up. If You Ask Me Thats The Best Way To Go.
