Default Question for Streams and Rivers.

Looks like I am going to be fishing some over the break cause the lakes are all icey. I remember seeing like a picture that had the hotspots to fish on a river like a diagram. Wish someone could help me out. What places like bends, drops, etc. are where you want to fish on a river?

Look for current, and then any area that is a "edy"...a area for example behind a point, where the fish can get a break from the current, and wait to ambush something that goes by...also downsize your bait/lure selection.

Normally I take it those diagrams reference hotspots when it is warm. Since your lakes are frozen over I take it you are in a cold location, so if you are going to stream fish (not easy in winter) I would suggest focusing on some of the deeper holes.

River actually for the most part. That is going to be my game plan. Fish the swings and deeper holes.

Fishe, WTL is correct fish around deep holes in the rivers/streams and try to find some laydowns. Work a jig slowly through them and this time of year for me it seems to help if you wait a few seconds on setting the hook. In swift current look for eddy water on bluff banks that are by deep holes.

Good Luck
