Default Jig Fishing

I went to Wal-mart today and bought two jigs. The colors are black-brown/chartreuse. I am fishing on sat. or sun., and was just wondering if u guys have any tips for fishing them. Water temp still very cold. There is a bunch of reeds, in this small reservoir, with rocks and mud bottom. If this isn't the right lure choice to be using what should I use and in what colors? The water clarity is somewhat murky, and the water level is very high. Remember this res. is really small! Other than the reeds it is just open water all the way around. Any tips, please!!

You can fish it several ways-on your other post I said use it around the rocks fished slow. I mean cast it out, let it sit as long as you can stand it, let it sit some more, move it a couple of inches and repeat. I'm sure up in Ohio the water is cold, so fish slow.

Picture a crawfish darting away from something, or digging in the rocks. That's pretty much what the fish are used to seeing. So quick short spurts, or sitting and digging.

I really like jigs. Most of the time i use them around timber or in rocks. JNPing them works well, and i always use a trailer. Im still getting use to them..Im not a finesse fisherman by no means.

Lizards, Never mind, I am going to behave on this post.RRW, Basically what Lizards is trying to describe there in his post is how you want to fish the jig, keep it close to the bottom , if a jig is usually not moving, a bass will not keep alot of interest in it for very long. Water current allows you to get alot of skirt movement without moving the bait far. Where you find alot of current on a lake ,you will also find alot of fish. I hope this helps. P N J
