Default wacky worm

don't know what this is. saw it talked about in another thread. what is it and how is it fished? I've had to learn a whole new vocabulary since getting into bass fishing.

Simple. Take a senko type bait. Hook it right through the middle. Cast it out. Let it sink for a bit. Twitch it back. Wacky Worm

It's a very, very simple, but very effective bait! Take a worm like a senko, or any kind of finesse worm (I like Robo worms and gulp wacky crawlers), take a small hook (1/0 - 3/0) and hook right through the middle of them worm. You can add a small split shot near the eye of the hook if you'd like for some added weight if you need it. To use them all you do is cast it out and let it sink a ways, and twitch it, pull it, or what ever! make sure to watch the line, cause often a bass will go off with it and swallow it.

Good luck!

Not through the middle spatially, but the mid weight-point. For example, most worms are thicker toward the head end than the tail end. You'd hook it about one-third down from the head end. Dangle the worm on your finger to find the actual mid weight-point.

there is also a tool that you can use to put an o ring in the middle of the senko so that you can use the plastic many times, sometimes you have to experiment where to put the o ring either middle or off center sometimes works for me.

Or more economically and arguably better, you can just stop by a local orthodontist's office and ask to buy a handful of orthodontic elastic bands. Or buy them online. They double as excellent weedguards on a variety of hooks.

Your local drug stores hair care section may have a bag of 500 small black rubber bands for $2.

throw it out, let it sink, let it sit, pull it up, let it sink, let it sit, pull it up, let it sink, let it sit .... i think you get the point......

i like throwin Zoom finesse worms or trick worms better than senkos really, but you got to throw that on a spinnin reel its so light

Ya, you can, but, it's easier on a spinning rod and reel, what action rod are you using also what lb line?

And ya, he uses revos!

I know I must have misread something. There is no F#&$ing way that BassBoss just corrected someone for their spelling?!?! I know that there are some bible versed individuals out there. Is this not in the book of Revelations??

How do you hook those Zoom finesse worms when their so thin without teaing them out? The small rubber bands are bigger than the worm. ???

First I should say that I have not wacky rigged small finesse worms so this is just off of a hunch. I would say to go down to a small drop shot style hook if you feel inclined to wacky rig them. I would think that you need to also just accept an exposed hook if the bait is that small.

Dental floss might work too to help hold the hook in. Wonder what flavor the fish would like...humm

Not bad places to live. I spend a lot of time in both spots for work and fishing. I am actually in Poway, but list San Diego since not too many away from here have ever heard of Poway.

I broke off a monster there in the spring and have had her straighten my hook a couple of times. Most of my bigger fish have come out of there this year. The water is higher than I have seen it there in the past 10 years.

When you fish the wacky worm, you have to say, "Wacky, wacky, wacky" every time you twich the worm back to the boat!

So, it's, cast it out, let it sink, wacky, wacky wacky, then let it sink, then wacky, wacky, let it sink, then wacky, wacky, wacky, wacky and then cast again and repeat all over again if your partner has not thown you overboard yet!!!

You know something? when I originally posed the question on wacky worms. I did not think to get so much advise. wife and I sat in front of computer and roared with laughter. you people are a gas. It's nice to have such a information source with humor. Oh: I live in eastern Oregon, Bend to be exact. just joined the local bass club and find the members friendly and very helpfull. this is a great sport. Happy Fishing everyone. Oh! I also did not think I was opening a can of wacky worms.
