Default Something I want to try

Recently I was watching a video of Michael Iaconelli and he was saying that what he likes to do sometimes, is pretend that he is his lure, the idea is that this will help him to focus on exactly what his bait is doing at all times. For me late in a long day on the water I notice my presentations becoming sloppy. I thing that this will also help to slow me down and be a bit more thorough when I need to be. As silly as it sounds.. I bet it works

I think that is some of the difference between a recreational angle and a professional too. I don't know about you, but I get tired after 8hrs of standing and stumbling around the boat. Those guys are conditioned to do it day in and day out. When I find myself getting like that though, I just readjust, but the frequency of DILLIGAF gets closer together as the day progresses of nothing much is going on. Now if they have been pegged, patterned and active, I tend to not stray as much.

Whenever I want to be "one" with my crank I always wear a 2nd hat like this. Picked up this tip from the Zen Master Rick Clunn in 1976 works every time.Click image for larger version

That used to my motto back when I spent more time chasing leg than chasing fish

I do it alll the time! It's not just Ike who does it either, lot's or pros do the same!

It makes fishing more fun for me, weather or not it helps me catch more fish or not, I don't know... but I still do it!

If Iaconelli was ever one with his crankbait it would be going every which a way and all over the place and wouldnt stop making noise.
Keep it wet you will get bit, wonder about it keep it dry you wont.
Clunn and frits are the crank go to guys and neither will crank out their secrets.
Most are using a bait you cannot buy at least not now most likly wont be the same when released and with rods specially made that cost them nothing.Ever see a used clunn or fritts rod on ebay?Nope just the series named after them.

Fritz will take you fishing for a small fee and take you to the school of Fritzy cranking.

I used to do that but got to good at it. I kept getting away from all the fish that went after the lure.

I remember seeing Ike laying on his back on the front deck of his boat and spinning like a top a few years ago. He must have been using a Helecoptor lure.
