Thumbs up Tav, I owe you one

Finally got to fish a Jika rig today. Rigged it up with a 4" watermelon Chigger Craw and on the second cast with it got a chunky keeper off a rock bank.

Thanks for telling us about it and if you PM me your address I'll send you a couple of the spinnerbaits I make!

Man, that's a deal, glad you caught fish on it. I have made a few for some of the local guys around here and they are saying good things also.

I went fishing with my oldest Son today and on the 3rd cast of the Jika rig, I hooked up with a 3lb 3oz bass and caught a 2lb bass just as we were leaving the spot.

I've been gone awhile and life has kept me from bass fishing other than a handful of times the last few years but I am looking to get back into things this season. I've been looking for new ideas and will definitely be trying this rig out as an alternate to my drop shot and texas rig presentations. It should be fun to see how it works out!

It is nice to be remembered.....even if I am remembered as something a cat yacked up....

I'm looking forward to stealing all the knowledge I can as I have been out of the bass fishing scene for the past couple of years.......enlighten me on what I have missed!

Speaking of your spinnerbaits (if there is anyone on here who still doesn't know how awesome they are...haha).........I finally lost my last one just last year but wow did I catch a lot of fish on them - including my personal best 5+ pound smallmouth. Your spinnerbaits are MONEY......anyone who gets them should be very thankful.

Those things are sweet looking! gonna make some up and try them myself. I was thinking about using the elaz-tech plastics so they float better. Also possibly a small like 2in leader and a deep wacky rig version ?

I was actually going to ask what plastics float well for this kind of application and for drop shot type presentations in general. I have to order most baits online so with new types/brands I rely heavily on you guys who have fished them to know the quality and whether or not they float well.

I strategically whittled down the honey-do list over the winter so hopefully the first early season (up here) bass trip will be in the next few weeks now that the ice is off......
