I love this type of bait. I throw a Bandit Footloose or a Bagley's Killr B-1 in Firetiger, perch or Shad. Can't go wrong!

I use the Splatterback Sunfish Color. But this color combo is pretty much standard on my cranks. I also like the C-Bait in Bluegill.

Yeah, I love this type of fishing. Like earthworm said, I'll throw a Bandit Footloose all day and be quite content......Just find a cool-looking color and give it a whirl.........or do what I do and buy all of them. ;D ;D ;D

I like the baby bass color and firetiger.I had a elite series ,I think it was Autum brown or something, but it worked great,that is until a Northern pike took it. P N J

I've been using these for five or six years as my preferred bait for super-shallow cranking. All the colors I've tried have produced, from quiet colors to loud, such as desert sunset.

I don't like that the hooks can tangle, plus this doesn't seem to be my best crankbait for catch-to-hook ratio. But its attracting qualities make up for these deficiencies.

My partner Jeff, who hasn't posted in a long time, never threw cranks due to lack of confidence. But he started to catch some fish on the Baby 1- and that gave him the confidence he needed to start throwing more cranks, which was a significant addition to his arsenal.

This sounds absolutly crazy but I won a tournament in '93 by Carolina Rigging a Baby 1-minus!!!

My partner and I got on some pretty decent fish in practice but when we went back 2 days later for the tournament we weren't having any luck. I felt like the fish was still in the area but I didn't know where. My partner started throwing a lizard on a Carolina rig and I was throwing a Norman crankbait that ran about 8'. He got a couple of bites but missed them. I had always wanted to try a shallow running crankbait on a C.R. so I tied a shad colored Baby 1-minus on with a 24" leader. The first cast resulted in a 2 1/2 pounder. A few casts later and the same result. I knew we were onto something so I had him tie one on as well.

We weighed in 21 1/4 lbs and won the tournament by 7 lbs. Everybody was asking what we caught them on and I said a Baby 1- minus. They all laughed and said that we were lying because at time time of the year NO fish was that shallow. I didn't tell them that we were fishing them between 9-12 foot. ;D

Give it a try when they start moving up on flats.

Baby bass and crawdad are good colors for the mans baby 1-minus, but try the bandit footloose series shallow cranks they are better cranks for when shallow cranking situations appear. I will also throw shallow shad raps and storm subwarts, shallow cranking is by far my favorite fishing application.

the baby 1- is a mann's crankbait that runs 1 foot deep or less thus the name. It also comes in the Mid 1- and the 1- which are larger versions of the same thing. Do a search on google and you'll find lots of pictures. Its a very good bait, so is the footloose, but both have their days and neither one is perfect. Lures are like tools and each one has its place. I would recommend both of these be in peoples arsenal. Another good super shallow bait is the Storm sub-wart and bass pro shops also makes a version of their house cranks that does the same depth range as these that is good as well. I love fishing super shallow cranks in areas where most guys are fishing spinnerbaits. They get bit when fish are tired of watching all the spinning metal go by them.

It's 2 1/4" long and officially weighs 1/4 oz., although it actually weighs much closer to 3/8 oz.
