Had one years ago, but I haven't looked at one lately. I stepped up to the Berkley Series One line. A nicer rod for a few dollars more. Nice rods though, the lightening rod.

The new lightning rods are great! I have a 6' MH that I use for spinnerbaits! It is a very good rod for the money!

My rod arsenal includes numerous St. Croix and AllStar which are very nice rods but I have a few Lightning rods that I use often. For the money, they are excellent IMO.

The new ones do look sharp!

I got 3 of them! Awesome rods! my 6' MH was my first bass rod. Its now my drop shot rod. I like heavy rods for drop shot. I dont know why.

I have never bought a Berkley rod I have been un-happy with. I say go for it. First "good" rod ever was an old Cherrywood, a bit heavy but very sensitive. Any of you oldtimers remember when berkleys were yellow, with a rubber cap on the but with the heart and the B, and had brass reel seats? Ill post up a pic here soon.
