Default Lake Fork Fishing Report 5-12-04

Lake Fork: The weather this week so far here at Lake Fork has been great for Bass fishing. The Bass have started moving back out to deeper water and I have been catching anywhere from 20-35 Bass per day up to 9 3/4 lbs. Most of these fish are being caught on Carolina Rigs in 20-28 feet of water and the early morning top water bite is really starting to improve. The lake is a lot more stable than last week and over all conditions look very good. The water temp is in the low to mid 70's and the lake is starting to clear up from all the rain we received last week. The Bass fishing will continue to improve and unless you catch a stormy day, you should be able to catch some good fish right now. We offer Bass trip all year long.

The Catfish are still up spawning and the Crappie are being caught along the timber on the main lake points in about 20 feet of water. Minnows and Jigs are both producing good limits of Crappie on and off all day long. We will start fishing for Catfish in June once they have moved back into deeper water. If you are wanting to fish for Catfish this Summer or Fall be sure to book early as we are already starting to fill up a lot of our dates.

Lake Tawakoni: We have made several trips to Lake Tawakoni this week and the Big Sandbass are on fire. On one trip this we boated over 125 fish in about 5 hours in 4-8 beet of water. The birds are of no help right so you need to know where to go to find the large schools of fish. We will be offering trips to Tawakoni for the next couple of months and if you want to catch a lot of fish at Tawakoni, now is the time to go before it gets to hot.

Mexico: We are booking Bass fishing trips to Lake Comedero, Mexico for 2005 right now. Book early to get the best times to fish one of the World's Best Bass Lake for Dec- Feb. Space is limited at Comedero. Reports from El Salto are very good with good numbers of Big fish be brought in every day now. Fishing should remain good at Salto until sometime in June. Very few spots left, book soon for this season.

If you want to fish for Bass, Crappie, Catfish or Sandbass, we have the guides that do it all. Give us a call at 903 383-3282 or look us up at lakeforkproguides.com. Until next time, Good Luck and Great Fishing !!!!
