Default Weekly Lake fork Fishing Report

Well, the lake is finally full and the gates are closed. The lake is muddy in the creeks and up north. The water temp is in the low seventies and there are plenty of males protecting fry. Shallow crank baits have been good starters and finishers. The weightless Wave Tiki sticks, flukes, wacky worms and Lake fork Tackle Ring fries have been good starters and all day long. The top water bite has been good one day and slow the next. Pop’r type baits have been the best bet. Carolina rigs on the main lake points have been good out to ten foot of water.
The spawn is still in full swing again. We have plenty of fry and new spawners on the banks.
Lipless crank baits are doing a good job on some nice fish. Soon there will be fish in the deep water and shallow alike.
The crappie have been moving out the deep water around the bridges. Small jigs and minnows are the best bet.
