Talking Went Shroom'n

Just got back with a buddy hiking the foothills and creek bottoms,
got about 32 yellow sponge, and he probably got 3 times that, he really can spot them, fixing them fer supper right now!

JB, those look good. Haven't had them in years. Used to find them around old grown up apple orchards. Enjoy your supper.

Today we targeted saw grass, it looks like 2ft bamboo , then from there we hiked to a hillside and found some, spent the earlier part of the day walking creek banks and 20 ft to the sides of them. lots of sticker bushes but its always fun, probably another 2 weeks left to find yellow and gray sponge. We just ate and its the freshest batch ever! yum

I remember going mushroming with my dad when I was young. That was about 45 years ago. Now I couldn't pick one without fear of picking some toadstools. Can anyone recommend a book or publication for picking them?

Its Been The Worst Year For Me Finding Them We Have Had Little Rain And Cold Nights. Also Screwing Up The Fishing.

not to seem "stupid"....but i've never seen any mushrooms that looked like my bath sponges....hehehehehe....not sure if i'd eat em or get out the bubbles....lol......hope your having fun there JB.....
