Default Spawning Bass / Tournament Fishin

I have a tournament one week from today. This morning I seen two bass beds , and they were in em.. anyway in a tournament do you.. Pull em off their bed , or should you fish around the general area and try to hook some bass that havent spawned yet ? I am going to assume that not all bass spawn at the same times , anyway the water temp was 61 to 63 threw most of the lake. There is not alot of structure on this lake , but lots of riprap and alot of shallow 3' flats. The two beds I seen were both on the West side of the lake... What search baits would work best ? I thinking a lipless crankbait.

today my search bait was a buzzbait over bedding areas, worked pretty good. spinnerbaits also are supposed to do good

I have had my most success on a spinnerait, but buzzbait has been good and i also think some kind of a floating worm would work pretty good.

I've found bass to be extremely aggressive towards a Strike King/ Kevin Van Dam Wild shiner jerkbait. Fish it right over their nests and your sure to get a violent strike. Try to keep it in the strike zone as long as possible and get them agitated. If this doesn't work, use an Extremely fast retrieve (as fast as you can!!) and speed it past them and they will usually chase after it. I've caught tons of bass this way in pre-spawn, during spawn and post spawn. Have Fun!!

Welcome to the site RSAbassboy..
I would throw soft plastics or jerkbaits ON the beds, that was killing them during our spawn a few weeks ago.

Lizard on the bed was the best bait for us yesterday. I tried a jerkbait and a trickworm with limited success.

Have a variety of baits and try them and see what works.

My first tournament was today , me and my partner took 3rd. , Not the best , but at least we made some money , and had a good time doing it. I didnt know what to throw , and always worried about it. I threw a Zoom Jerkbait in Arkansas Shiner color , and whacked bass after bass... I alone cought 8 bass that were less than 1/8" undersized , and culled 4. I am happy , the people that took second beat us by 2 oz. and first beat us by 8 oz , they used buzzbaits all day long..and it paid off.Pretty close top three...
