Default What rod do you prefer for Drop Shot?

I have been looking at some articles about the drop shot over the last few days. Most of them talk about how to rig it, but not the size, type, and action of the rod they like to use. I realize that rods are mostly personal likes and dislikes. I just thought that I would pose the question of "what type of fishing rod to like to drop shot with," on here. Thanks!

I have the one here with "D" handle, 7'4". I got it a week before it went on sale. I have 12 lb. braid on with an 8lb. floro leader. I was told that handle is better for the sensitivity.

I have not gotten to try it much this year yet though.

I like the 6'10" M model made by CrazyFish Rods. Perfect for drop shotting.

I like to go with spinnig gear and light line, I have a GLX Loomis 6 footer for that and I usually go with 8# test florocarbon or regular mono.

Most people like their DS Rods to have lengths between 6' and 7' with a medium to medium light action and a soft tip.
Many rod makers have DS specific rods so visit sites like G Loomis, Shimano, and Lamiglas to get an idea of the actions they offer and where these rods differ.

Personally I prefer a longer rod because of the added leverage and line control they can provide.

My drop shot rod is a 7' Lamiglas Certified Pro Drop Shot Special
I made a post on a catch I made with it in the reports section.

I've been using 6-8# test line particularly 8# P-Line CX Premium which is a fluorocarbon coated mono, and Sea Guar's Invisx in 6# test.

Drop Shotting is fast becoming one of my favorite techniques for its simplicity and effectiveness when the bite is tough. Good luck!
