Default Yes!

I finally got the trolling motor mounted on the boat! Can't wait to take it out and give 'er her a spin! All we need to do now is mount the new front deck, mount the new depth-finder (Eagle FishEasy 480), and if we have enough time put in a livewell.

I'll post some pics of the new TM tonight.

Default Sorry!

Sorry I didn't get those pictures posted Guys, I was working on getting the new depthfinder mounted...

I'll get some pics. tonight of the new TM and depthfinder.

We stilll need to make the battery boxes, one for the 12V lights/DF, and one for the 12V TM. We also need to make a new front deck and fix the bowl hich holds the oil filter in the motor, it leaks. Then just clean 'er up and make a test run!

Great ingenuity but can I lend a builders opinion bud? I would rethink and maybe revamp your mount. If that tube you have mounted gets a small kink in it she will buckle under power. I work with metal every day of the week. I strongly suggest getting a small piece of aluminum plate approx12 to 16" in the shape of the bow. Attach this and then attach your troller to this. VERY stable and stout. I know.....................I have done this on more than one boat before.

I have a peice of diamond plate aluminium that would work for the price of shipping.

Hey Lunker,
I have to agree with Laser on this one. There will be a lot of preasure put on that cross peice and the screws you have on it appear to be way too thin. I may be wrong and it may last forever but you don't want that thing to end up in the bottom of the lake. In my opinion the more screws or bolts you can get into somthing like that the better. Thats just me though.

I think that piece of strut will be plenty enough for the motor. We have did this before and it worked for use. Also, it is boledt down with four 1/4" S.S. bolts with aircraft nuts, so she shouldn't be going anywhere...

Anyhow, most of the motor is bolted, (four bolts), to the mounting plate. We only added that strut so the motor would not be too flimsy and bend down too far. It is more of a reinforcement rather than a mount.
