The best are Optima gel cells. But they run 200 plus each. For my money the Walmart battery is the best..

Charging the minute you get home will make those cheap batterys last years upon years.
I had a starter battery last 13 years and a trolling one last 9 years.. both on a built in dual charger all the time.

Skimp on batteries and never on chargers.

I use Interstate deep cycle batteries. But I replace mine every 2 years no matter what condition they are in.

Cabela's AGM here. I've put a lot of time on them and after 3 1/2 years they are just starting to show a little less life. I think that I will buy the same ones again, the reason I don't buy the Optima's is because the funny shape. I know that now they sell an insert so they fit a normal battery box though.

All good advise so far especially good on-board or even external micr-processor chargers. You might want to look into running 4 GOOD 6V Golf cart type batterys. A little pricey but will last for years if charged correctly. Take a look at Rolls Surrette

If you want some really good one's get the new TPPL batteries. They might run you $400-500 each but you can put a 50-100 amp charge to them. Short charging period and long run time.
