Just wondering how to properly set up a Carolina Rig. How long should the leader be and what kind of soft plastic to put on ect. Thanks

Also, if you have a basspro magazine, there is a page in there somewhere around the 340s, that has that technique, and a couple of others, and tells you briefly how and when to fish them.

If you fish where there is a lot of vegetation, then I reccommend you use a Mojo weight, instead of the standard weight used. IMO it gets through the vegetation much easier.

Dick's, BPS, Walmart, Cabela's, you name them, they probably sell them.

I use a lighter weight 1/4-3/8 oz.when carolina rigging. As Lizards said, a mojo style weight will come through the grass easier.Try a Pumpkin/chartruese tailed bait.I don't know why, but the color works well for Carolina rigs.

err got to go with 6" watermelon seed lizard tail dyed chart. i use a 3/4oz very rarely i use 1/2oz alot.. imo you can feel the bait -what ever it is -bouncing along the bottom with a lighter weight.. when using the 3/4 sinker all you feel is the sinker draggin on bottom.. i caught a 9+ pound fish this morning he never picked up the sinker felt the lizard take the wack though..

For xxx baits you may want a shorter leader. These baits float.
