Default KVD Line & Lure Conditioner

Smart-a$$ question: is anybody "conditioning" their LURES with KVD Line & Lure conditioner? (or can I continue to use Pert 2-in-1 on my X-raps?)

I use it on everything I have been pleased, it really helps my line more than my lures

I use the KVD stuff on any line that's not braid. It does help a lot. I never use it on any lures.

I've never heard of using line conditioner on lures. Whats that supposed to do for you?

Never spool up without it-braid, mono, or fluoro.

good question, all i could pull from it would be help to keep the paint on it from when you hit something with your lure it helps it slide off a little better instead of scratching it up, kind of lubing it up?

but i did see bill dance using line conditioner on braided line

So it's safe on braid?

Never used a line conditioner. When you spray it on a full spool of line will it penetrate down into the layers of line or do you also have to make a cast and then spray some more onto the spool?

I spray KVD Conditioner on my line (braid) about 2 hours before I'm set to go fish. I then spray it on my guides about 15 to 30 minutes before I fish. I spray my fishing lures with WD-40.

i use it on all my lines including braid, flouro, and braid. i also use it on some jig and spinnerbait skirts if they get a little nasty looking.

Keith-
It will penetrate the line, but what I do is spray it on a cloth and run the line through it when I'm spooling up. Then I spray it on before and after a trit when I remember to.

Is there a difference the solution? Are they made from different stuff? I really don't know. I just know that I am concerned with trying something new because I am concerned it will gum-up my reel.

Fishn, Do you spray the whole lure, or just the hooks/eyelets?
Have you noticed any deterrent effect in doing this?--I can 't imagine the WD-40 tastes very good to the fish (I can smell the stuff 100 yards away).

I have noticed that it is easier to clean my rod and guides if I regularly spray it down with the conditioner. As far as the WD-40, the website says it is good for lures and I have had about the same amount of luck with or without using it. However, I do not use it on my soft plastics.

When you spray it on it will penetrate down the spool of line, and it does really help casting distance. When you respool, spary some on about every 30-40 yards worth and you line will be buttery smooth off of the cast. I prefer the KVD to the Reel Magic. Check this out...

Tried it and it seemed to cast further but for only a couple casts.I am not sold on it yet.I used it on braid.I usually just make some casts to get the line nice and wet and have no problems.

Thanks!

I'm going to try it out on some crankbaits.

I once watched a guy spray WD-40 on live minnows and proceed to load the boat with crappie.

Which is better-Reel Magic or KVD? Bill Dance used to have a can of Reel Magic handy on his boat. It has been replaced by the KVD. Yeah, I know he fishes private lakes almost exclusively, and hawks some gimmicky baits, but he does know how to maintain his gear.
