Whats lure and presentation do you guys use mainly when you're fishing for that big Old bucket mouth trophy?... I would go for a jig or a crankbait when looking for a hog and colors and jig type would depend on the water I'm fishing. Tell me what you guys usually use when looking for lunkers and the presentation you may use.

I love fishing with frogs deep in the slop. I don't generally fish for trophy fish, I just hope they get there before the dinks do. but my biggest to date, #9, was caught on a 6" Zoom lizard.

To me, Jigs are teh big fish lure. Unless you are out west, then a swimbait that imitates a trout is the way to go.

Presentation anyone? Just curious... I like to Flip/swim a jig... and when they get tight lipped I go with a slow twitch and stop method.

I like running a deep diving crank bait, say around 15 to 20 feet.

I have four baits I would say are my hawg hunting baits. The jig, the weighted t-rigged beaver, the soft body swim bait in spring, and a large spinnerbait.

One of the biggest fish I've caught was on a 20 foot deep diving Cotton Cordell Grapling Shad in Blue and chrome. Cotton Cordell Is my Favorite crank bait company because I have had better results with all of their crank baits more so than any other company.

First is a big 3/8 or 1/2 spinnerbait with big willow blades. Chartreuse or white, or a combo/variation of them. A big black jig, with a long thick skirt, and a purple trailer, pork is preferred.

Yea thats true and alot of times when deep cranking you lose lures easy and cordells are cheap, so thats a plus. I like to throw strike kings because their easy to crank unlike a rapala and they are also cheaper priced.

A big jig (60+ strand skirt ,dual rattles and a pork-o trailer) looks a lot like a big salamander. An F18 rapala or magnum long A (3 8lb ers this year on them), a 5" swimbait (ghost lures or shad-o-lishous), a std size Zara spook, a 6" tiger tube, a sweet bever or brush hog for punching through mats, and a 12" black worm. I try n go for my PB every time I go out. I fish more club tourneys now but would water catch bass 4lbs n up or none at all. Still the smaller ones will smack the bigger baits more than you would think. Interestingly enough, I have thrown the bigger baits (bigger than mentioned) for about a solid year, most of it fishless. I did see some giants, teen fish for sure, but most would just study the big baits. I believe there is a comfortable size for them to strike, any bigger and I believe the detail gives them away, or I'm just not good enough to pull it off.
