around those docks in the mornin i throw a buzzbait, have a worm ready, incase they miss it.then when the water gets a little warmer, look for some fallen timber and weeds around the dropoffs, that should some fish biting a crankbait.a crank around that rip rap too.if there not biting the crank, try a jig around the dropoff,

your talkin largemouth right????????

norman this time of year means spotted bass will start to turn on . the rip rap would be killer use a #5 jointed shad rap in shad color work it slowly back to the boat..

also a fluke weightless. take my word for it i fish norman in the winter a 5-6" fluke weightless,a #5 jointed shad rap,or a jerk bait. are all i ever use and i catch tons of bass.looking for a 4 + pound spot by the way.. norman you are more than likly to catch a spotted bass than a large mouth.

that is down near the dam aint it??
i normally fish the marshell steam plant area. that's hwy 150 bridge..

all you have to do is lip the bass a large mouth in the 2 pound range would have a mouth you could drop a soft ball into. a spot in the 2 pound range would have a mouth smaller than a tennis ball. they tend to be quite diffacult to tell unless side by side. look at the tounge if it has black spots on it it is a spotted bass.

Spotted Bass and Largemouths are caught on the same baits. Spots do tend to congregate more, so if you catch one, it's very likely you can catch several more quickly in the same area. The easiest way for me to tell the difference is spotted have more pronounced Black zig-zag lines on their sides. They also tend to not grow near as big as LM's do. Just keep catching them, they fight and usually act like LM in almost everything except they congregate more.

I have caught several on the Ohio, and also caught some at Kentucky lake. I have caught them in Monroe, and even a couple out of Eagle Creek Resrvoir, and Patoka. I haven't really noticed they fight better than LM but I haven't really apid much atention. I never have caught one over 2lbs
And I haven't seen a 2lb or smaller bass that can really give a good fight for the equipment I use.

We have seen a few four and five pounders before in tournament weigh in at ky lake in late april.
I've never caught one over 2 lbs but
occasionally catch one.
