Default Now this is what I've been talking about...

This how we learned back in the day.
Look at how he holds the reel to cast.

Wow, that was a great little video, loved it! If it works way back when, it'll work still today!

Neat, I love living in 1956.

Also, what part of that exact same cast couldn't be done with a Left handed reel?

I didn't know they made braided line in 1956. Why was I somehow under the impression that Spiderwire was the first one on the market with braid?

Both videos are pretty cool.

One thing that always amazes me are folks who can cast accurately from a seated position. For me, I might as well be casting with my left hand.

Seems pretty much like how I do it, and I do it with left handed reels. Who woulda thought...

Boyyyy, those are really fun to watch. I'd like to see what Johny would say about todays pitchin technique. Did anyone notice the handle on Johns rod had a hump much like todays BPS Power Hump rod handles. Also, I was waitting to see if Joan was goping to make a run for it from a gater! haha

Why was the Garcia Girl using a Mitchell reel? Did Abu not make spinning reels back then?
Also that was pretty crazy that she just hopped right in the water wearing street clothes and shoes.

It was really neat to watch those old videos.

Abu Garcia was the distributer for Mitchell reels.
The mono was most likely Royal Bonyll(another abu product)
I've still got a few spools
