Default Kansas City/ Lake Jacoma and Blue Springs

I have fished Lake Jacoma and Blue Springs before and I was woundering if any of you guys have. I am going to be up in Kansas City for a baseball tournament and our games are on saturday but it looks like we can go up there on this Friday and fish a little. If you guys have any tips or what colors work on this lake or places to fish let me know. Last year I fished up there in August and I did okay but not as good as I should have. I caught like 8 shorts and 2 keepers over 15 inches and my dad only got 2. I think Blue Springs lake has a dam or Jacoma but I fished around it from the bank and I got a couple off that on lizards, and I caught a couple on a strike King crankbait off of a pier rip rap bank fishing point thingy, across from the dam. I noticed there was a lot of grass there and there is a lot of eel grass but I didn't fish it that much. I probably should have. I also tired this road bed that comes out by this bridge across the lake. I am sure JackL has some info being he is from Kansas.
