worm hook
is there any advantage to an offset worm hook as opposed to an ewg for worm fishing?

Speaking only for myself, I only use the EWG hooks when the worm is extremely bulky or I am T-rigging Tubes, or Texposing drop shot worms (for dropshotting around brush or grass). All other applications get the offset or straight shank worm hook.
The EWG allows for the bass to bite down on the bulkier baits and expose the hook point.

For T-rigging worms, I only use EWG. Gammy or Ownder, both good hooks.

I use the G-LOCK hook for everything but flukes then I use a 3/0 EWG. I have had better hookups with the G-LOCK than with the offset hook.

Well i use a offset worm hook when fishing finesse worms, stickbaits, and lizards, but fish a EWG hook on creature baits when flippin', and when throwing a fluke.

You guys are still using the the name brand hooks!
I found "Hookerz" hooks and they are half the price as the gammies! I use the EWG most the time! http://www.hookerztackle.com/hooks.asp |

All my soft plastics with the exception of drop shotting are with EWG hooks. As for Hookerz, Jason Cuda the owner, who I've known for years, sells some of the best hooks on the market at a great price. They're top quality, and the consistency from one hook to the next is there. What's more, he usually gets your order out within 24 hours, answers the phone when you call, and often adds a few goodies with your order. He's expanded from just hooks to line, rods, reels, etc.
You just have to try his flippin' hooks, they're simply the best.

I still don't need another order of hooks from Hookerz, as I bought so many last winter at the NY BASS seminar where he had several tables. I'm not even going to buy those weighted shank swimbait hooks. Instead I've ordered from BPS some of their 1/8 oz hook shank weights that I will couple with Hookerz 3.5/5.0 Flippin'hooks. Should be a deadly combo.
