Default Gamakatsu Skip Gap hooks

Anyone tried these yet? They look great and should work great with my presentation, but I can't seem to get my hands on any. Every place I check is either sold out or on back order.

try e-Bay. they have a big selection but you might have to buy in a 100 pack

Hef, I just picked some up at Dick's today. I got some tungsten weights also. They were raising the tungsten from $3.99 to $7.99. I got the old price. The new skip gaps are $2.99.

Haven't tried them-I don't fish anywhere I need to skip-but they sure look good. Good idea, too!

I just tried a Mann's hard nose frog on a skip and they look like they will really hold good. There is a little bend that sticks below the body of the frog that would hold a small shot for weight or to prevent turn over on the cast. You have to pull pretty hard to get the bait to slide on the hook.

So what is the purpose of these hooks? Are they supposed to work better for skipping? Looks like more hook protruding would do the opposite?

my guess is that the bend in the hook applys pressure to the plastic to stay put on the hook and eyelet, thus no slippage....educated guess rofl
