The only Norman lure I've used regularly is the Deep Baby N. As Zooker noted, they have to be tuned more than other crankbaits I've used, but it's an excellent fish attractor.

I have never gotten into the "expensive bait" craze. I use Normans and Bandits extensively, and I like them. In the Normans I use everything from Middle Ns to the DD-22s, with confidence! On rare occasion you may have to tune one, but more often than not they run true right out of the box.
I go with Zooker on the Pro-Edge series.

I love norman's crankbaits. I rarely have to tune them out of the package and they are good fish catchers. My favorite bait (old faithful) is a norman baby N Pro Edge in Moss Back. Great, Great color, The only thing bad is it can be easy to bust the bill on them.

I know what your saying zooker, I whacked my yamaha with a ratl'trap one time so hard that the body of the ratl'trap flew off from the split ring. What really sucked was that it was a brand new one.

My first experience with them was not good. Being spoiled by Rapala, I assumed that cbs should run true out of the box.

Well, they didn't. The funny thing is that on the way to the lake, I passed a trash can and threw out the plastic bag and receipt and thought nothing of it.

Made the cast and during the retrieve, didn't feel right. As soon as the cb came into view I saw that it wasn't tracking right. I was definitely disappointed. I imagine that this is probably an exception. When I get the chance, I will send it back to them and explain my case. Hopefully they will respond and I bet they would make it right.

Marty,

Have you had to tune them because they were due for a tune up or did they need tuning out of the box? Finding that I needed to tune it made me put it away because I want return it to them as I received it.

I'm pretty sure many, if not most, were right out of the box. I just have accepted this as something that goes with the territory. It's certainly no coincidence, since I've used so many crankbaits that haven't needed tuning.
