Default small pond fishing

Today I fished a small pond on one of the jobsites I worked. I thought the bigger bass, would be deeper so I fished a 8" blue plastic worm c-rigged. I caught 10 bass in about 15 casts. All of them were smaller than 1/2 pound. then I tried a pop-r and caught 3 fish in the next 10 min. Two of them were over 4 pounds. Why were the bigger fish hitting top and not the worm?

If you can figure that out you can phone in your Bassmaster Classic win

On the plus side you did figure out what the bigger fish wanted, which is a good thing.

You are getting into the brush country down there-big deer, though. Unless you have a tank on the lease the closest lake is Choke Canyon about 45 miles further south-it is about 75 miles south of SA.

Never have. Heard it is a pretty good lake, though.
