buoyancy

I always choose heavy mono over light mono while topwater fishing because it has more buoyancy allowing for better action. I usually use about 20lb. But I was considering switching over to braid. I've never used braid much. My question is would 20lb mono have the same bouyancy as 20lb braid? Or would it have to have the same diameter in order to have the same buoyancy? Or does mono just have more bouyancy than braid over all? Or does braid sink faster than mono? Any help would be appreciated.

I gotta tell you, pound for pound I don't know which one is more buoyant, I suspect braid might be but given the fact that its thinner, can absorb water and gets picked up by the wind easily it just handles differently. With still water and no current, I think it tends to float and is good for topwaters. When you get into current and a gusty wind it can be a pain cause you will get a bow in your line.
