Default Trilene Transoptic

Has anybody tried or uses the Trilene Transoptic line? I'm hoping it will help me be able to see the line.

I been wondering as well. I hope it has low stretch.. around 11, or 12% is good enough for me.

I love the color, and from other forums, folks say it is easy to see, and it's pretty tough stuff as well.. from what I've heard though never used it.

I haven't used the transoptic mono, but I have used the similiar Berkley Transition flurocarbon, which has a similiar gold tint. It's good in sunlight, glows a visible gold above water. In shade however it didn't show gold and is just about as difficult to see as untinted line. Since I pitch baits into shaded areas a lot, it really didn't do what I wanted - make the line visible for line watching. Same issues on cloudy or rain days, the visibility was significantly reduced. The Transoptic may have different properties as it's mono vs. f/c but I wouldn't try it based upon my experience with the Transition, usless I see some rave reviews contrary to my experience. If you are a line watcher you could try some of the hi-vis braid. I've used yellow with a 4' - 5' f/c leader - that line you can REALLY see. The red may offer similiar advantages, but I haven't tried that color.

I used the transoptic for all of 1 day and took it off... the visibility part works excellent... but as a line this stuff sucks... aweful memory and tends to dig in on itself under pressure like braid... the 12lb felt as stiff as 17 lb...
