Default zoom super flukes

Do zoom super flukes work as well as people say. If so how do you work them fast, slow, hard twich, soft twitch and what colors work best.

Soft twitches. You can vary the speed a lot. Sometimes if the fish are real aggressive I twitch them so fast that they continually break the surface, other times I twitch them as slow as every 5 seconds.

You can also rig them on a split shot and fish them slow and deep. I like white as far as colors, but really most of them work. Normally when I twitch them fast I use lighter colors, and when I fish them slow I use darker colors.

yes they work but the reason i don't use them much is the hook up rate sucks about 1-10 will stay on till ya get it to the boat. if you use a fluke use a 5/0 or larger extra wide gap hook. let the rod load almost like a pop-r strike. then set the hook like you are aim to throw the fish over the boat. still you will only land about 1-10.

I think you are lowballing the hookup ratio zook. From my experiance I have about a 50/50 lose/land ratio, and I normally use 3/0 or 4/0 hooks.

Geez, I land about 2/3 of the bass that hit superflukes, I think they're easier to set the hook on than most any other lure.

Yes, they are as good as advertised. WTL works them like I do. One thing I have noticed-in heavy cover, ie. hydrilla-I get more in the boat using PowerPro braid instead of mono.

if you tie a rapala knot , or use a swivel snap, the action is great, totally diferent from a regular knot

I love the zoom super fluke. That is some of the first things that I bought last year when I started chatting with people here. I fished them the same as WTL said. One thing that I learned from someone at the sight (Tom) is this bait skips very well. You can skip it under low over hanging trees close to the water that you couldn't get to with a normal cast.

I haven't really had a major problem yet with hookups yet. I usually use 4/0 hook with them.

zoom super flukes are an extremely effective bait. They are durable, you can catch more than one fish on them, they have one of the most realistic actions out of all the soft plastic jerk baits on the market, they are pretty inexpensive, come in a wide variety of colors, are simple to rig, and are easy to find in any sporting goods section of most stores. I mean what more can you ask for. As far as the strike catch ratio, well, if its 1 in 10, then thats not the baits fault. I have a very high strike/catch ratio with the fluke no matter what size hook I use. I do use a wide variety of hooks, if I am fishing shallow aggresive fish, then I will use a small 2/0 hook, if I want it to get a little deeper, then I will go to a 4/0, and sometimes a 5/0 hook. If I want it to go even deeper, then sometimes a spit shot placed a few inches above the hook eye can be the ticket. good fishing

Dang the infamous zooker, and poor hooksets Sorry couldn't resist. Anyway, first off rig the hook opposite of the way it shows the rigged, with the point of the belly. Secondly this is exactly the type of situation, where SUPERLINES are superior. They allow a quicker/sharper hookset, to penetrate the plastic, quicker, and more efficiently. I use flukes 2nd to my Lizards, and I agrre the thickness of the plastic can have a big impact. So help minimize it, by using a MH rod, and Superlines, if you want a mono leader go ahead, but the Superlines do work much better, and a stiff rod. I use a 5/0 Hook, from Lunker City, that is matched up to their FIN-S fish I use. It's a little bit weaker than the Owner brand, but has a great point, and designed with a better angle. This is how I fish it weightless, because I always fish it in cover, and can't use an exposed hook type rig some folks use.

I use fluke juniors on a double zulu rig for schooling bass. Talk about awesome action (both from the bait) and the fish. Sometimes you get two at a time. I use the Zoom Juniors with a 2/0 hook.

I tried all types of plastics last year and the fluke types are the only ones I didn't have any success with. I even caught bass on jigs and spinnerbaits. lol I will put more emphasis on the flukes this season. One other bait that I am going to try this year is a suspending jerk bait. I got a couple of X-Raps to try.

The Super Flukes are 5" long, and the hook rate should be no different then a 5" worm ! ! ! ! ! !
