lunker listen man, i know that the price tag on seaguar can look scary. but i promise you that it is worth every penny. when i started using flouro i was kinda like you, i didn't want to shell out big $ for flouro not being sure i would like it. i bought vanish and hated it so much i swore off flouro completley. then a guy in my club kept swearing buy seaguar carbon pro. finally i broke down and gave it a shot. i loved it, then invizx came out and i bought it and haven't used any other flouro since. i know that if you start with seaguar line you probably won't know how much trouble bad flouro can be (worse than bad mono) but believe me when i tell you that if you don't start with a spool of seaguar i bet you will be buying one pretty soon.

flourocarbon will probably take a little getting used to, however the transition will be much smoother with a good line like seaguar. you will really like it.

As gary_3000 said though, $19.99 is a tad high for me. What bout something like P-Line 100% Fluorocarbon or P-Line HALO? Are any of these good. By the way, whatever line I get, do you reccommend using the KVD Line and Lure?

It is more difficult to handle on spinning gear from my experience. I even turn the bail over by hand and put tension on the line for the first few cranks but still have some issues. I never had any problems with P-Line or the BPS XPS floro. Both are a lot stiffer than mono so as said it takes some getting used to, even with the line spray. Personally I think that the Halo is softer than the others, but also more expensive.
Also, for next year on my reels I plan to go with braid and a fluoro leader for most everything. This should be the best of both worlds.
Also, also keep in mind that you do not normally have more than 30 yards of line out (as stated earlier, close to 100 feet) at any time so a cheap or old mono backing under your braid or fluoro is good to save a lot of $$$.
