Default 2006 Bassfishing Forum Big Bass Contest

Forum members:

I purpose that not only in 2006 we have tournies as held in the past,

but also have a added feature for glory and some prizes, a monthly posting of

BIG BASS for that month. Even though we all are spread out from canada to fla and texas, I think anyone could have a chance at a big bass for the month, be it a couple pounder up to a lunker.
In any BASS tournie, you all are aware of the big bass jackpot
and about every tournament I've been in theres always a bigbass jackpot
that someone takes up for 5 bucks or so.
Any suggestions, comments, pro's or cons...lets hear it!
Its also a good way to hear from the winner about the catch, what pattern was used, depth and structure and water ,air temp,
in a effort to help all that are learning and wanting to refine thier skills.
Of course the southern section will warm up first and we may have some
months that arent as active, but we can work that out.
Maybe start in jan, or feb, or march all the way through the rest of 2006

btw, click on the big bass in the above post for a great pic rofl

Sounds great! Let's do it!

It's too easy to catch bass in Canada during Jan, Feb, Mar and even April. I have to wait until June(season opens), however, I really like to see big bass!

I'd enjoy help our forum. Need any graphic and web support, just let know.

Cheers

Sounds like a better iea than the honor system bass tournament. Here is another thought. have it broken down in different catagory's. The Lm lunker of the month. The SM lunker of the month. That way the Fla,Texas boys dont always have the advantage. face3 it they grow em bigger there than most any where else. The the northern guys can compete with the brownies. You could also place a biggest LM of the year and a biggest SM of the year. You might even make a qualifier of say 4 lbs minimum.what do you think? Fish2win

Sounds like a plan. I like the forum tourney style but you tend to use up more film for them. Seems like this would be a nice way to go.

Fish2WIn I know why you want the smallie category, hell your in the smallie capitol of the world.... LOL!

sounds like a good idea to me, more competition, and learn the ways everyone catches the big ones.

JB, I think you might be on to something. Have a year-long big bass tourney with a big bass prize for both LM and SM.

BassMasters, do a search for forum tournament. We've had 2 in the past year.

And there you have it. Considering the Stein is such a closely guarded secret that has only been shared with a priveleged few (and I am one of them ) that is a great offer!

A Sporting Chance..... Because of the variations in growth periods, water temps, nutrition levels, etc.....from state to state, province to province, etc.
What about using the state/province record weight as a divider. In short, take the weight of your largemouth, for example, and divide it by the state or provincial record weight in order to establish a percentage. A percent of your catch compared to the record. Use this percent as your score. In the states, it could be done by first putting the weight into the total number of ounces, then dividing by the total number of ounces of the state record. In other countries, the standard of weight my vary, but the percentage will still hold as a true comparison and a true standard.

In the event that you have caught a fish over the state record, your percentage will be greater than a hundred. Great score....

Any thoughts on this proposition?

Good fishing, Mac

This also applies should you catch one out of state, simply use that state record bass to establish the percent score.
