Default Little Brother Got A Good Deal....I Think...

Sibling rivalry being what it is, my little brother texted me last night to tell me that he just bought a bass boat.

He talked some guy down to $750 on a 1978 (I think) Glastron HPV175. I technically, it might be a fish 'n' ski, with the two bench seats along the sides of the bow. However, the hull is all bass boat, and the 175 Johnson on the back will probably push this thing to 65+. It has a foot-controlled TM on the front and two fishing seats (the front deck is smaller of course).

He said there is some damage to the transom (he knows how to fix it), and I'm sure the motor needs some work. And even though it is a god-awful metallic brown color, it looks like it's in good shape otherwise.

I think for $750, I could put up with the color.

If anyone knows anything significant about this boat, I'd appreciate your input. I want the boat to work out for my brother.

I don't know anything about the boat but if it were me I would go over to bbc and spend a lot of time in the boat restoration forum.

Any chance you can post a couple pics of the boat? I'm curious to see if it looks like my old neighbors boat.

Cripes Bryce - your trolling motor cost more than that. Obviously he does not share our penchant for throwing buckets of money at our hobbies.
