Default What's your favorite fall bait?

With fall coming soon, what is your go to bait when the bass start their fall feeding? Personally I use a shallow crank, spinnerbait and a white jig.

I'm going to have to say the same exact thing. But definitely love the swim jig!

A 3/8 oz. spinnerbait is my go to bait, but there are others I won't be without. I'll always have a medium depth diving crankbait, a frog type bait for fishing shallow cover like lilly pads, a soft plastic t-rigged bait or jig for pitchin into cover and along banks, and a topwater which still produces even in the fall. Which topwater depends on the situation. This year I started having success with using buzz baits. I'm not sure yet how they will play into my fall bassin.

I love anything topwater. Pretty much any topwater lure we threw (frog, buzzbait, pop-r, zara spook, floating jointed rapala) was getting some action last week, but not nearly as much as you would think with all the surface busting fish that were crashing everywhere around us.

I'm very new to jig & pig fishing, so I want to try that this fall, and I just bought my first-ever swim jigs at Cabela's last night, so I want to try those also.

We also use shallow cranks a lot, too, but I want to try to branch out a little bit this fall.

My favorite would be a Xcalibur XR50 but any kind of reaction bait can be good.

Fall changes a lot here in Michigan. Water temps very from the upper 70s to the 30s. At the beginning of fall it is pretty much still summer fishing. Right now the water temps are dropping and last night I had my best success on a jig. I think the fish are starting to move out of the really shallow water and back bays where I was fishing. For now I'll stick to twin-tail grubs, jigs, and shallow cranks. Next stage will be jerkbaits and traps. Then once it cools a bit more blade baits. Overall I'd say my favorite is a jerkbaits though, a Pointer 100.

1/2 to 3/4 oz. White or white transparent spinnerbait with twin willow blades if there is wind. If not, then a 1/4 oz. PBJ or Watermelon Red Flake Grub.

Buzzbait, spinnerbait, walking bait (like a Spook or Sammy), Popping bait (like a Yellow Magic), squarebill crankbait, and I am falling in love with swim jigs.

With the local lakes, it seems the shallow cranks and plastic worms/jig types for the ones hiding in/near cover.
