Default Well, another great idea....

...that I THINK I got from someone here.
Maybe some place else.

But went to Gander, Walmart and other places for line conditioner and no one had ANY.
I've used Reel Magic (petrolium base) along with Reel Butter and KVDs.

So I went to Ace Hardware and got a 11oz can of Pure Silicone Lubricant for $5.
Put it on 6 reels, baitcast and spinning.
Fished in 40 degree temps where Floro seems to have the most memory.

It worked as well if not better than even KVDs.

Now I only used it the one time....so far but I was totally happy and compared to $8 for 2ozs. of the line conditioner.....FLAT OUT ECSTADIC!!!!

Whoever gave me the idea.... THANK YOU!

Nice Joe!
The only conditioner I can find around here is Braid Aid, and I'm not a huge fan.

Let us know if it holds up for you

if not here, i have mentioned the fact that i have used spray silicone for years on fishing line. most of the so called line conditioners on the market, if truth be known are mostly silicone. another advantage to use silicone, it that it can be used on your guides when fishing in cold weather. it will prevent ice from forming in your guides. glad you discovered it joe.

Bo, I thought I got the idea from you!

I'm not sure if it was here or elsewhere and I was going to credit you but wasn't positive, so didn't.
Sorry and thanks!!

i am just glad that you tried it. i even use it on braid to make it go through the guides with less drag, and not tend to hang on tree bark as bad. silicone on your line and guides is a must if you fish during freezing weather. i use it on spinning reels too, not just baitcasters.

Holds up perfect.
I was a daily conditioner user but now it's an every other day thing.
I don't reline till spring but this year I'm treating every reel and after sitting thru the hard water season I'm going to use them at least once before relining.

Tell you more next spring.
